Finding the Time to Read

February 1, 2009

Finding the time to read has not been easy for the past few weeks.  I had hoped with the beginning of the year I would average about two books per month.  So far I have failed with this quest and the book I am currently reading I have only managed to read halfway.  Like I have stated before, I have this unquenchable desire to read and learn at an impossible speed that I know it is not possible unless I were to only read during every waking hour.  How would it be?  Someday I wish to read and write as my profession and hope to support my family even if it turns out to be a hobby or part-time job.  A man has to dream doesn’t he?

As someone who does read and write for a living (mostly writing, reading doesn’t really make me any money), I’ve got to say that the first thing you need to follow your dream is to find time to read and write.

When I started I was working a full time job, and writing in the evening.

I started writing fiction, and after winning a few contests I moved into the world of Freelancing. At that point it only took me three months to go from my first freelance job, to having to choose between the day-job and a writing career.

It’s obvious which I chose, and I’ve never looked back.

Follow your dreams and you’ll find success.

    Cheers,
    Trevas
